well its still quiet on ere so i thought i'd post something , im listening to uk subs a lot lately so thought i'd post whats everyones fav uk punk , oi or ska band ?
i can't decide mine haha atm i'd say uk subs but that will change soon lol

Yeah I've heard some of Poison Girls stuff, they're pretty good

i heard 1 album by conflict like 7 year or so ago now cause this lad i used to know loved them and it was called increase the pressure i think , did you hear the rummours about conflict ? using money they had earned of benefit gigs for animals and apparently keeping it themselves idk whether its true like just summit i read somewhere

I haven't heard about that. I tried researching it but can't find anything except for the dispute between Colin and Steve :-/ Doesn't sound like something they'd do to be honest

Have you seen Conflict's MySpace page though? I don't know if it's their official one which is actually run by the band or not, but on their photos they have a few pics of girls basically wearing very little or in some sort of sexual pose.. wtf is that about? I didn't think they were sexists at all, well except maybe for the song Berkshire Cunt (cunt being the sexist term there, not the song itself). Hmmm :-/

Gbh have a song that piss's me off like i think its called slut , but it's like i use that word when im very pissed off like the word cunt lol but i also use the word cock lol im not sexist at all i believe in equality i think its how the word is used to cause offense its just thats why i use it just like any other swear word . Although i can see how it can be looked at as a sexist word , but its a complicated matter haha

I like the City Baby Attacked By Rats album, how come I never noticed that song :-/
I just looked up the lyrics and yeah it's a sexist song by the looks of it, saying shit like "I want you cos of your bust" and "dirty bitch". Fuck, that's just lowered my 'respect' (for lack of a better word) for them.
I don't think cock is sexist though is it? Not sure.

well if cunt is i would of thought cock is lol but i hate it when ya've liked a band for years and then find sexist songs by them , like i have a live album well i borrowed it and put it on my laptop lol but anyhow i have a album by the business and i was googlin more about them and they have a song called get your tits out or summit like that and its disgusting , but although it offends me sometimes lads will just be lads lol , it depend how bad it is for me like ive only heard one sexist song by gbh so i'll suppose i'll let it go lol but ive just remembered there's that big women song aswell what do you think about that one ? and ive just remembered some crass lyrics i don't like on so what where steve goes im not a spastic lying on the floor i think discrimination against disabled people is just as bad as racism its still discrimination

But cunt is kinda different... it's hard to explain. It's like when someone calls somebody else a pussy, they normally mean because that person is being a wimp. So calling them a pussy is sexist, because women have "pussies" therefore saying that women are wimps. But 'cock' and 'dick' aren't normally used like that.
Lol I think the whole lad-ish thing is a bunch of shit, listen to Crass' "Big Man, Big M.A.N."
Big Women isn't sexist - it's not an anti-large women song, and there are no sexist terms in there.. If anything isn't it more of an appraisal for larger women?

I don't think it's discrimination against disabled people, because spasticity/spasm just means excessive contraction of the muscles. Spasticity as a disability is kinda different. I can't come up a favorite punk band. I can say that it could be almost any band from the 80's i.e. Disorder, Chaos U.K., and Discharge. Ska wise it would be the Specials, hands down. Oi is Cock Sparrer.

The song "Slut" by G.B.H. isn't meant to be a sexist song. He talking/singing/vocalizing (what ever you want to call it) about hookers and how the men that pay for the services think of them. He says they "Are spread around like a social degrease.", which they are. At least that is what I get from it. I say we stop picking apart songs and just listen to the music. Just put the vocals in the with rest of the instruments. Hell. There are some bands I've heard that the vocals just sound like a chain saw or a really pissed off grizzly.
I miss the old 80's UK punk bands. I don't know of anyone that sounds like them anymore. Disorder, Chaos U.K. and especially Chaotic Disorder, just to name a few. Chaotic Dischord was just that with their music. It was pure chaos. It wasn't until later that they put the instrument together in harmony, and the vocals didn't go with the beat of the music. Disorder was just about speed. They blasted through the songs and didn't care if they made sense. Holy shit. I am forgetting about Discharge. Cal would repeat the same thing over and over again,and Bones was one of the best guitarists in punk to come around. I think the UK needs to revive this 80's punk. Punk might not be dead but lets not let the style of music die.
Does anyone know why the guys in Chaotic Dischord hated Chaos U.K.? At the end of a song the singer says, " Fuck Chaos U.K. They ruined my career." or something to that point. I couldn't find out why he said that.

Where does he say anything about prostitutes "are spread around like a social degrease" ?? The closest lyrics I can think of to that is "I suppose you think it's fun to tease, spread around social disease" - meaning STDs..
The song is very basic, it's simply about how he likes 'slutty' women. That's all. The lyrics "dirty whore" and "dirty bitch" are sexist. There's no mention of anything about how men see prostitutes like you say.
And it's not as simple as "just listen to the music" if the song has prejudice connotations to it.
No idea about that sorry, not really a fan of 'chaos punk' music :-/

Well the song basically is about big women turning him on lol . and slut is just about slutty women lol .
And for them crass lyrics its the way he says it like im no spastic lying on the floor like spastic sort of meaning his not hopeless lying on the floor is how it comes across to me and its like these days and probably more so back then the word spastic gets used in a offensive term and i hate it , but a charity calling themselves that is just asking for trouble lol i hate the word though anyway when its used to offend anyhow . Yeah it's used to offend but it's not sexist towards men. When you call someone a dick for example, you don't mean it offensively towards men do you? When someone says "you're such a pussy", they mean to compare you to a girl, which is meant to be the insult.. that's sexist. When you're called a dick they're not insulting you by comparing you to a guy, they're just using it like any other word such as "idiot" or "dumbass".
It's like the saying "that takes a lot of balls", you never hear it as "that takes a lot of vagina" do ya !? Haha yeah strange convo, there's dicks and vaginas all over the place here
